Keeping mountain biking sustainable
There is nothing quite like being on a hillside, bathed in sunlight, riding your bike and surrounded by the sickest group of riding friends – That’s why we believe it is vital that we do our bit to protect our environment.
When you buy one of our jerseys, you know we’re doing everything we can to make them as sustainable as possible.
We’re not perfect, but we are constantly improving. Our packaging doesn’t leave a trace, and our products are made from recycled materials to make them as eco-friendly as possible.
“Leave it better than you found it” is a philosophy we live by, and one we bring to our jerseys as well as to the trails.
WE USE COMPOSTABLE PACKAGING
All our packaging is compostable. That means that within 6 months of buying one of our jerseys, you will be able to use our packaging to plant vegetables or wildflowers in your garden.
From our mailers and tissue paper to our labels and thank you cards; we ensure that everything we send to you (excluding your rad new Shred Like a Girl gear) leaves no trace.
Once you have opened your parcel, just throw your packaging in a compost bin. When you come to do the gardening in a few months’ time, it will have become nutrients-rich soil you can use for planting and potting.
The big difference about our compostable packaging from biodegradable packaging is that when ours breaks down, it will add nutrients to whichever soil it is already in, meaning it fertilizes and improves soil health!
If you don’t have a compost bin, our packaging can go in your general waste and will still break down with time. We can’t avoid packaging, but we can ensure that we use the most environmentally friendly and sustainable option.
OUR PRODUCTS ARE RECYCLED
We are doing everything we can to ensure our products are produced with recycled or organic materials wherever possible. Our jerseys are made with 100% recycled polyester, and our mudguards are made with 100% recycled polypropylene.
Our t-shirts are 100% cotton, a natural and renewable material that is much better for your skin than polyester, and our drive to improve means we are currently sourcing a new organic option.
As a company, we are doing our best to be as sustainable as we possibly can, however we are always open to new ideas and solutions that can help us become more environmentally friendly. If you have any ideas, or questions, about our sustainability choices then please give us a shout on our contact page here.
